Octavia - 8 Metre

Octavia was designed by Bruce Kirby and built by Bent Jespersen in1983. She was a competitive racer in the 8mR fleet and won the 8mR Worlds in Canada in 1984. Octavia was refitted by Brion Rieff starting in 2018. Brion cut the aft end open and widened it by about 18”, giving her more buoyancy aft and allowing the stern wave to roll off the very back of the transom. Jacob Vargish provided the naval archtiecture support, making sure the boat was as fast as possible and in compliance with the 8 Metre rule. Octavia’s new home port will be Lake Ontario.
